Night on the town
A while back, I spent the evening in the West End of London. I went into town on the tube and then a short walk to the Piccadilly Theatre to see the evening performance of the Jersey Boys. The musical story based on the life of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
They were most popular a bit before my time, but, the songs are all memorable (from the 1960’s such as “ Sherry” & “Walk like a man”) even my friend who is a bit younger than I am, knew almost all of the songs. We had fantastic seats in the royal circle. The cast were all on form and the show was a get up and dance success. We had a very enjoyable evening, then a walk around seeing the London Eye.

Tangiers
Whilst I was born in Africa I have never neem to any part of North Africa. I have been through the straits of Gibraltar twice on boats been to east, west and South Africa.
With a little bit of looking – one thing that the internet is good at – I discovered that I can catch a Ferry from Tarifa in Spain to the old port of Tangiers. The ferry journey is short and the old port is very close to the oldest parts of the city.

Merida – A city with a rich Roman heritage
Despite COVID and all its issues I was able to drive to the city of Merida in the region of Extremadura in Western Spain. It is about 400kn North West of Malaga not too far from the Portuguese border. I stayed in a hotel in the centre – the chain is well known for converting Convents and Castles into good hotels, they were fastidious about cleaning and social distancing. The food was good as well.
