Darwin & Perth

Posted on in Blog
Flew into Darwin from Alice Springs – 2 hours north. Even landing at 7pm you can feel the heat and humidity difference.

The next day off to see some aboriginal art and buy some.  Then on a bus to Cullen to catch a ferry to an island North of Darwin.

Dinner is at Mindil beach to watch the sunset.

Perth

What day is it and where am I?

Wednesday so it must be Perth. Distinctly cooler than Darwin – by about 15c.  If you travel by bus within certain boundaries it is free!!  Perth is also the first city to have free wi-fi available wherever you are – hats off to them for that.  I would also like to thank the lady who gave me directions to the train station when I was looking lost – people in Australia come up to you and ask the question as opposed to you having to ask them. It is very refreshing.

Having found the station it was off to Fremantle on the train – a 30 minute journey - which is about 20km down the Swan river and is the Major port for Western Australia. A couple of claims to fame for Fremantle.

It was where the America’ cup yacht – Australia II – was conceived and designed and became the first vessel to win the America’s cup which is the oldest international sporting trophy in the world. America had held the trophy since the first race held in England off the Isle of Wight in 1851. The yacht was revolutionary for its winged keel and is on display in the Fremantle Maritime museum.

For those of you – like me – who have an affectation for heavy rock/metal – it is also where Scott Bonham, who was the lead singer with AC/DC from 1974 until his death in London in 1980, lived  after his family had emigrated from Scotland in the 1950’s. There is a statue of him near the beach.

It then began to rain!!   - desperately needed in Australia

More to see and do before the Saturday night flight back to the UK.

Bite Size - Equipment Maintenance Management Module.

    Posted on in

The Equipment Maintenance Management Module has undergone a recent update. This window enables the setting up of a specific calendar for the Equipment Maintenance and is setup in the same fashion as the Company or Process calendars. If a calendar is defined when planning the next maintenance dates SYNCHRO will push the date forward until a working date is reached. If no Maintenance calendar exists, the default system calendar will be used instead.

If you currently use the Equipment Maintenance Management Module. - you will benefit from the development.

If you do not currently use the module, this is an opportunity to have a one on one demonstration

...and remember this module has no purchase costs.
